When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
When you register for a Reiki or Meditation workshop the data you input is kept on file, but never shared with an outside party.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and login to our site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. In a Reiki class, students often like to communicate with classmates. If you do not want other students to receive your name and email after the class let me know. Otherwise your name and email will be shared exclusively with the class attendees for that class or workshop.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Cancellation & No-Show Policy
Life happens—we understand. That said, time and space are intentionally held just for you. Sessions are scheduled in a rented healing space, which I reserve just for you. Since vouchers are provided in full-hour increments and cannot be divided:
- If you need to cancel with at least 24 hours’ notice, we will simply reschedule.
- If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, a room charge fee of $25.00 will be issued.
- No-shows or same-day cancellations – 100% of the session fee will be charged
I’m also honored to be a part of the healing journey through the Hope Lives! program. If you are not feeling well but still want to receive your session, you are welcome to shift your in-person session to a Distance Reiki session during the same time slot. You can still benefit from the energy work without needing to be present in person and without having to late cancel your appointment.
Your well-being is the priority, and this policy helps ensure I can continue to serve all clients in a sustainable way. Thank you for understanding and honoring this energetic exchange.

How we protect your data
My site is a WordPress Content Management System (CMS) and it is kept up to date so that website security features are activated.
All processing of payments is external through various credit card processing companies such as Stripe, Venmo, Square and Paypal. Credit card data and payments are never stored on my site or my server or via my website host.
What data breach procedures we have in place
If there is a data breach you would be notified by the last email you provided and receive a mailed letter at the last known address.
What third parties we receive data from
When you register for a class I receive a notification from our credit card processor of your registration.
